Security Guard shot, gun stolen as bandits escape with employees’ salary


crime scene[] – Two employees of GNIC, located on Lombard Street, Georgetown were attacked and robbed by two men on Thursday, January 22 in the GNIC compound.

The attack on Darren Bryan, who is a Clerk and Security Guard Oslen Clarke occurred just around 15:35 hrs and according to police, one of the men was armed with a handgun.

Police investigations revealed that Bryan was in possession of salaries for workers and was being escorted by Clarke to the payment area when the two perpetrators entered the compound and held them at gunpoint.

Clarke was shot to his left foot and his service .32 revolver and rounds taken away while Bryan was assaulted and a bag with $600,000 was also taken away by the men who escaped on a motorcycle.

Investigations are in progress.
