Seaman allegedly caught stealing cell phone granted bail

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Orvin Hubbard, a seaman, was granted $70,000 bail by Magistrate Ann McLennan on a simple larceny charge.

The defendant of Grove Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara, pleaded not guilty to the charge, which alleged that on September 11 at Houston Wharf, East Bank Demerara, he stole a Galaxy Note 2 Cellular phone valued $75,000, property Lorenzo Hamilton.

According to Police Prosecutor Deniro Jones, the defendant was caught on camera stealing the item; however he did not object to bail. He is slated to return to court on October 14, 2015.
