[www.inewsguyana.com] – Raymond Samaroo, a 25 -year-old Psychiatric patient, who was released on $150,000 bail for the repeat offence of carjacking last week, is now back in court for the fourth time, charged with a similar offense.

It is alleged that on October 28, 2015, at Station Street, Kitty Georgetown, he stole one Toyota Allion, valued $3M, property of Eon Pearson.

The court heard that Samaroo, of Lot 20 Owen Street Kitty, Georgetown committed the offense just days after being released on bail for a similar offense.

He pleaded not guilty to this offense before City Magistrate, Fabayo Azore. In this regard, the Prosecution objected to bail due to the seriousness of the offense and the fact that the accused currently has several other similar matters against him before the court.

The Attorney for the accused informed the court that his client needs to undergo further intense psychiatric evaluation and possible treatment.

The Attorney petitioned for reasonable bail, citing the fact that his client at times is not fully aware of his actions and its consequences.

Bail was refused and he is scheduled to make his next court appearance on November 07.

The 25 – year – old man had escaped from the Georgetown Public Hospital Psychiatric Clinic in July of this year.
