[www.inewsguyana.com] – A fire erupted earlier today (June, 19) at the Port Mourant Hospital in Berbice, however it was quickly contained by fire fighters at the Rose Hall Fire Station.
According to Fire Chief, Marlon Gentle the fire started from one of the surgical equipment and it was due to power failure in the area.
The Fire Chief told iNews that fire fighters evacuated everyone from the building and ensured that they were safe after which they proceeded to prevent the fire from spreading.
It is reported that the equipment and a section of the roof are damaged as a result of the fire.
