[www.inewsguyana.com] – Kevin Giles of Mathew’s Ridge was granted bail in the sum of $350,000 on two counts of break and enter and larceny charges.

The 28-year-old Pork Knocker pleaded not guilty to both charges before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, one of which alleged that on July 24 at Mahdia, North West District, he broke and entered Comfort Inn Hotel, Restaurant and Bar and stole a quantity of items, which included a driver’s license, a GBTI bank card, two Alcatel cellular phones, a pair of GUCCI glasses, a quantity of tablets and inhaler, two ounces of raw gold and 15 pennyweight gold together valued $941,500, property of Sherlock Harper.

Particulars of the other charge alleged that on the same day at the same place, he also stole one Apple IPod and purse together valued $165,000, property of Golyn Solomon.

Police Prosecutor Michael Grant did not object to the pretrial liberty of the defendant but requested that bail be granted in consideration of the value of the items.

Giles was represented by Attorney-at-Law, Paul Fung-A-Fat, who told the Court that his client is willing to report to the Matthew’s Ridge Police station every Friday at 08:00 hrs.

The matter was transferred to the Matthew’s Ridge Court for August 4.
