Police Dog Handler remanded for cocaine, marijuana possession

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Twenty-four-year-old dog handler attached to the Ogle International Airport, East Coast Demerara was charged with the possession of cocaine and marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.

DogIan Johnson, however,  is an officer attached to the Canine section at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Narcotics Branch and stationed at Ogle International Airport.

Johnson made his appearance before Magistrate Sueanna Lovell at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court was remanded to Prison. He pleaded not guilty to the offences, which alleged that on May 21, at Ogle International Airport he had in his possession 5.574 kilogrammes (kgs) of cannabis sativa (marijuana) and 2.286 kgs of cocaine.

He is scheduled to return to Court on June 13.
