[www.inewsguyana.com] – Police discovered ten fields comprising of about 5,000 cannabis sativa (marijuana) plants, ranging in height between1 foot and 7 feet.
The plants were found and destroyed during a drug eradication operation at 15 Miles, Ituni Backdam on Thursday, November 7.
According to the police during the operation its ranks came under fire and returned fire as a result.
Four men were arrested and 271 rounds 7.62 x 39 ammunition, three AK47 rifle magazines and a telescopic night vision lens were recovered by the police. Two other men managed to escape. Investigations are in progress.
