One seriously injured as bus topples

[www.inewsguyana.com] – A Minibus conductor had to seek medical attention at the Georgetown Public Hospital, this afternoon, for injuries he sustained to his head  after the route 50 minibus he was travelling in toppled when it came into contact with a speeding car.

 

IMG-20150118-WA005 (1)iNews has been informed that the bus – BNN 3109 – was traveling east along Robb Street when it was slammed to the right side by motor car – PRR 949 – which was heading South along Camp Street.

Eyewitnesses told iNews that the driver of the minibus was proceeding at a moderate speed.

At the time of the accident there were only two persons inside the minibus and according to its driver, they were heading to the Bourda Market. Both the driver and the conductor of the bus are said to be Berbicians.

The persons who rushed to the scene managed to assist the injured conductor out of the bus and turn the minibus back on its wheel.

Extensive damage were evident to both the bus and car and a another vehicle which was parked nearby.
