[www.inewsguyana.com] – A mother and her 19 – year – old son are hospitalized after they confronted gunmen who invaded their home this morning and were shot in the process.
Police confirmed that at approximately 02:45 hrs on Saturday, May 09, three men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, broke into a home at Cadet Lane, South Ruimveldt, where they confronted Mai Venezuela, 39 years, and her son Devon Venezuela, 19 years.
According to the police, the victims put up a resistance during which Mai Venezuela was shot and injured to her chin and Devon Venezuela was shot to his right foot.
The perpetrators escaped and police investigations are in progress.
