Minibus passenger shoots man to death, wounds another


POLICE INVOLVED SHOOTING[] – An argument between two men in a minibus, which was crossing the Demerara Harbour Bridge, ended tragically on Saturday, December 26, 2015.

According to a police report, investigations are being conducted into the murder of a so far unidentified man of African descent which occurred in a minibus on the Demerara Harbour Bridge about 18:30 hrs.

Investigations have revealed that the deceased and another man were passengers in a minibus crossing over the bridge when an argument ensued between them over rain coming in through an open window.

iNews understands that during the argument, the suspect pulled out a firearm and discharged rounds which struck the deceased to his neck and another passenger Rudolph Williams, 28 years, to his back.

The suspect escaped by running over the bridge and Williams has been admitted to hospital.
