Minibus driver dies after being shot during attempted robbery

Crime scene[www.inewsguyana.com] – Thirty – eight – year old Jermaine Barrow succumbed to a gunshot wound he received to the back during an attempted robbery on December 15.

The Guyana Police Force confirmed that Barrow of Sparendaam, East Coast Demerara died at the Georgetown Public Hospital on December 19.

iNews had reported that at about 22:00 hrs on Tuesday December 15, 2015, a mini-bus driven by Barrow was stopped by a man along the Railway Embankment at Liliendaal, ECD.

The man pulled out a firearm as he entering the vehicle, while another man approached the driver. iNews understands that at this point, Barrow accelerated the vehicle and drove away during which the armed man discharged a round which struck him to his back.

  1. RIP in peace Mr. Barrow. You were providing a service to the people of Guyana. I hope that what you may call it organisation see it fit to announce your life matter too.

  2. Ow Mr King Kong, you obviously HAVE NOT properly read the terms-of-reference of the Presidential releases; it is the NON-VIOLENT convicted men who he has released.

  3. And the genius for a president will release these good for nothing from prison to commit more crimes–what a shame a hard working man lost his life when will this end?
