[www.inewsguyana.com] – A miner was on Wednesday April 15 granted $50,000 bail after he appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court slapped with a charge of break and enter.

Jomo Jordan (no Address given) denied the charge with alleged that on April 12 at Jeep Landing, Kwakwani, Upper Berbice River, he attempted to break and enter the home of Julius Shakespeare.

The court heard that Shakespeare who lives in a one storey house saw the suspect in the verandah trying to gain access through a door.

Shakespeare who is known to Jordan raised an alarm by shouting his name which caused him to jump out the verandah and made good his escape.

Bail was opposed based on the seriousness and prevalence of the offence and the fact that Jordan has a pending matter of indecent exposure in the court.

The prosecution’s objection was overruled and the matter was transferred to the Kwakwani Court, for April 17.
