Miner found guilty of robbery, jailed for 36 months

woman-in-handcuffs[www.inewsguyana.com] – Thirty– year – old Lexroy Rigby, a miner was today sentenced to 36 months imprisonment by Magistrate Faith McGusty on robbery under arm and attempted robbery under arm charges.

Lexroy Rigby made his first appearance in Court on April 1 and denied the charges. He was unrepresented and remanded to prison throughout his trial.

Particulars of the first charge stated that on March 29 at Waterloo and New Market Street, Georgetown, being armed with an offensive weapon, he robbed Ann Marie Basdeo of $40,000.

The other offence stated that on the same day at Waterloo and New Market Street, Georgetown, also being armed with an offensive weapon, he attempted to rob Dinesh Ramnarine of one Blackberry cellular phone valued $30,000.

  1. armed robbery n attempt armed robbery and gets a slap on the wrist…if someone decides the take the law into their own hands and defend them self and lay him out stone cold the law would be like leech all over that person
