[www.inewsguyana.com] – Relatives of 25 – year – old Orlando Graham known as ‘Lando” of Sister’s Village, Long Pond, West Bank Demerara believe he may have drowned in the Mazaruni River.

The family has lost hope that he is alive. Graham was reportedly travelling from the interior on Sunday, July 20 with another male, who was identified only as “Mice” when the boat they were travelling in allegedly capsized.

Reports reaching iNews indicate that “Mice” was able to hang onto the boat and swam ashore while the 25 – year – old miner, who spent the last six months in the interior, vanished beneath the water.

A report was made to the police who are now waiting for the man’s body to float ashore.

When contacted, an official at the Maritime Administration (MARAD) could not provide details of the accident.

Relatives have questioned the story being told by the lone survivor and believe there maybe another explanation for what transpired.

Orlando had reportedly purchase the boat along with “Mice” and had on his person, his earnings from the last six months he spent in the interior.

Relatives say they will ensure the matter is investigated thoroughly.
