[www.inewsguyana.com] – Fifty – eight – year old Clifton Walters of ‘A’ Field Sophia, Greater Georgetown, was today fined $2,500 by Magistrate Ann McLennan on an abusive language charge.
The porter pleaded guilty to the charge, which stated that on December 02 at East La Penitence, Georgetown, he made use of abusive language towards Cheryl Dick, where a breach of the peace may be occasioned.
Police Prosecutor Dinero Jones told the Court that both parties shared a relationship but is now separated.
The Court heard that on the day in question, Walters went to Dick’s home and accused her of having an affair and verbally abused her.
The unrepresented man asked for forgiveness, stating that he accepts the fact that the woman has moved on. He was bonded to keep the peace for 12 months with a default of four weeks imprisonment.
