[www.inewsguyana.com] – The police are investigating the murder of 40 – year – old Chetram Bharrat of Haslington New Scheme, East Coast Demerara which occurred at about 04:00h today, Friday May 02.
Initial police investigations indicate that two men, both of whom were armed with cutlasses, entered the home of Bharrat and his reputed wife, 36 – year – old Lomattie Ramdat, through a window.
The men demanded cash and jewellery during which the two victims were chopped about their bodies. Bharrat was later pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital while Lomattie Ramdat is receiving medical treatment.
