Last Prison Escapee ‘Keron Cummings’ captured

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Keron Cummings of Sophia, Georgetown who escaped from the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court lock-ups over a month ago, was today (June 21), recaptured by the police.

Cummings is one of four prisoners who escaped from the lock ups. Crime Chief Leslie James confirmed with iNews that the man was found at Omai Mining, in a sand pit.

Cummings is facing murder and armed robbery charges.

The other prisoners who escaped are Randolph Marques and Steve Richard Bacchus; both of whom were recaptured by the police.

While, 28 – year – old Vickram Persaud was shot and killed also by the police.

The breakout occurred during heavy downpour, while the men were awaiting their scheduled Court appearances.

They escaped by ripping the grill work and the mesh that covered the window at the back of the building to provide ventilation to prisoners in the holding cell. They then proceeded to climb down the back wall and scale the fence, cutting a stand of razor wire at the top of the fence.
