Labourer remanded for murder of female Taxi Driver

[]Sylvester Bristol also known Rambo of Yarrowkabra, Soesdyke, Linden Highway was today (Wednesday, February 19) arraigned before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on a murder charge.

He is accused of murdering the female Soesdyke taxi driver, Savitri Palmer and was remanded to prison. The 23 – year – old labourer was not required to plead to the indictable offence, particulars of which noted that between February 15 and 16 at Soesdyke, Linden Highway, he murdered the woman.

Police Prosecutor, Michael Grant requested three weeks for the file to be completed. No facts were read in Court and the case was put off to March 23.

According to reports, the woman’s body was discovered in a clump of bushes two miles from where her vehicle was found at the back of a resort on the Soesdyke-Linden Highway.

The woman left her Soesdyke home around 20:30 hours on Saturday night, informing her relatives that she was going to drop two persons at a loom pit in Timehri, and took her son along with her for the ride. Her son was found sleeping in the car.
