[www.inewsguyana.com] – Thenga Adams, a Communications Officer attached to the Guyana Sugar Corporation (GuySuCo) was arrested and charged in the United States (US) for cocaine trafficking.
According to reports, the 29 – year – old man attempted to sneak into the US with the illicit drug on April 7, 2015 with two suitcases, which he claimed he packed himself.
Adams, is associated with a Basketball team in Plaisance, East Coast Demerara and according to reports, when the Customs agents inspected his suitcases, they found two pairs of athletic sneakers in each suitcase; upon further inspection they found the cocaine hidden in the heel area.
Adams reportedly admitted that the sneakers contained illegal drugs.
