[www.inewsguyana.com] – Even as Dynamic Airways announced its inability to honor its August 8 target to return direct flights between the Cheddi Jagan International Airport and the John F. Kennedy International Airport, local aviation professional and associate of Dynamic Airways, Captain Gerald ‘Gerry’ Gouveia has assured Guyanese of continued service.

Gouveia, who is currently abroad and is expected to meet with the Airline in the new week, assured iNews that Guyana has not seen the end of Dynamic Airways.

The airline had suspended all flights on July 8, approximately two weeks after it commenced operations; explaining that the suspension was due to operational difficulties the airline encountered while trying to secure time slots at the JFK airport for the month of July.

Gouveia could not provide details on the further delay but said after the meeting scheduled for Monday, August 11, he will be in a better position to comment.

“Dynamic is flying charters all over the world. Guyana is but one of their projects and I am working hard to keep them focused on Guyana,” he said; adding that “I am meeting with them on Monday in North Carolina and I will be in a better position to say for sure.”

Gouveia believes the airline is committed to the Guyana operations.Dynamic

“I believe they do not want to trust contractors anymore so they are doing themselves.”

He said the airline is regrouping and reorganizing to deal with schedule flights.

When the cancellation was announced, Dynamic has indicated that it will allow the airline to secure time slots at JFK airport, organize better ground handling and check in process as well as secure schedule integrity which Dynamic Airways is well known for.

Dynamic Airways hit its first snag during its inaugural flight to New York on June 27, which led the airline to fire its ground handler, causing hours of delay and missed connecting flights for its passengers.
