GT&T Technician slapped with fraud charge, granted bail

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Leon Davidson, a 32 – year – old Technician attached to the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph (GT&T) Company was granted $75,000 bail by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry on a charge of obtaining money by false pretense.

Davidson, a resident of North Ruimveldt, Georgetown pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleged that on July 15, 2014 at Hadfield Street, Georgetown, with intent to defraud he obtained the sum of $200,000 from Mohamed Khan, pretending that he was in a position to sell motor car PHH4941, despite knowing same to be false.

No facts were presented to the Court by Police Prosecutor Michael Grant. The Prosecutor did not object to bail thus it was granted. The case will be called again on February 13.
