[www.inewsguyana.com] – The relatives of shot GDF rank, Vernon Harding do not believe that the shooting was an accidental one.

The shot solider has lost his small intestine and has two holes in his body, one in his liver and stomach. A bullet is still lodged in his body and an x-tray will be performed which will determine if a second surgery is needed.

Relatives, who prefer to remain anonymous told iNews (www.inewsguyana.com) that the injuries are a clear indication that Harding was not shot by accident, as is being claimed by the GDF. However, while they share this belief, the injured Harding is adamant that it was an accident.

According to the GDF, the two ranks stationed at the Colonel John Clarke Military School at Tacama were injured when two rounds were accidentally discharged from a firearm on Sunday May 18.

The other injured rank is Lt Othneil Hope. The Guyana Defence Force is still investigating the incident.
