  1. Mr. Griffith you have your facts contorted. That incident involved one Lashley who had allegedly killed a man named Hannibal (I think he was a policeman). It was the late robust cop – Fordyce, who subdued and arrested the suspect in the Sussex Street canal.

  2. derrycksgriffith, maybe I can help you with the correct information : It was Lashley who killed the two policemen . After committing the offences he was pursued by a courageous policeman named Corporal Fordyce but jumped into a trench with a cutlass in hand daring Corporal Fordyce to arrest him . After firing a number of chops at the corporal ,he was subdued , arrested , and charged for the murder of the two policemen. Subsequently he was tried, found guilty and hanged for his crimes.

  3. When I was a kid in Br. Guiana, the names Fordyce and Lashley rang a sinister bell.

I recall some individuals name Lashley and Fordyce killed two policemen in Alboystown.

These fugitives at the time were considered extremely dangerous, and a menace to society.

I wonder if this alleged Fordyce person is related to that felon of YORE?

  4. Thanks these losers are being brought out of their hiding to face their crime and how come the police are so fast on brining these loser out in the open?…Thanks to the new government…things have change now bring those person/or persons who killed that man who were telling folks not to vote for PPP.

  5. Crime and criminals are so many, that it seems that is how all Guyanese are. But that is NOT SO. It’s just that the good People of Guyana and the heoric things they do day in and day out, hardly ever make the news. That’s a fact.
