[www.inewsguyana.com] – Twenty – six – year – old former Barama employee of East Canje, Berbice was sentenced to two years imprisonment by Magistrate Ann McLennan on a false pretense charge.

Oswin Lewis pleaded guilty to offence, particulars of which stated that on March 17 at Georgetown, with intent to defraud he obtained from Marvin Watts the sum of $92,000 by falsely pretending that Danny Sankar, a cambio dealer authorized him to collect the sum of money from Watts to repair a generator for Sankar.

The accused told the Court that he is willing to repay the money to the victim but Watts refused to make such a deal with him.
