[www.inewsguyana.com] – Two men appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, charged with two counts of robbery under arms.

It is alleged that 40 – year – old Troy Abrams of West Demerara and 30- year-old Anthony Primo of West Ruimveldt, Georgetown on November 3, 2015 at America Street, being armed with a a gun, they robbed Rayburn Fraser of $820,000, US$300,00, TT$200,000 among other currencies, the total value of $1.6M.

It is also alleged that on the same day at the same location, they robbed Osafo Ward of $940,000.

The Prosecution objected to bail due to gravity and nature of the offense; the court heard that there are four witnesses in the matter who are willing testify at trial.

However, Abrams was quick to announce his innocence, explaining that on the day in question he was with his sister watching television when the robbery took place.

Bail was denied and they are scheduled to make their next court appearance on December 11.

  1. Crime is not out of control if the police are collaring some of them and placing them before the court as has been the case of recent.I would say that some progress is being made in countering the upsurge.
