[www.inewsguyana.com] – Clyde Barker, was on Monday April 13 released on $250,000 bail by Chief Magistrate, Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, after he was slapped with a causing death by dangerous driving charge.
Barker was the driver of the truck which struck and killed 12 year-old Ezekiel Murray of Friendship, East Bank Demerara on Friday April, 10.
It is alleged that 32-year-old DDL employee at the said location, drove motor lorry GJJ 278, in a dangerous manner to the public, causing the death of Murray. He pleaded not guilty.
The court heard that at appromaxately18:00 hours, the victim was walking along Friendship Public road when the defendant’s truck slammed into him.
Barker’s Attorney Sonia Parag, told the court, her client was overtaking a parked vehicle when the incident occurred.
He will re-appear on April 17, before Magistrate Fabayo Azore.
