Cook shot by Police in Region One; demands adequate compensation

[www.inewsguyana] –A 52 – year – old man who works in Region One as a cook is claiming he was wrongfully shot by the Police on January 26.

According to Eric Wilson, the Police are attempting to sweep the matter under the rug.

The incident occurred at Golden City Baramita, while Wilson was working. He told iNews during a telephone interview that the police barged into his place of employment and started to search the surrounding without any explanation.

He immediately approached them, inquiring why and what they were searching for, but he alleged he was attacked and a scuffle ensued between himself and one of the officers, when he was shot.

Wilson said the Corporal continues in his attempts to cover up the matter and has been making empty promises.

Wilson is demanding adequate compensation from the police since he is unable to work following the incident. The man said he is unable to provide for his family which includes two children.
