Conman sentenced to 3 months jail

[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 27 – year – old conman was sentenced to three months imprisonment each on two counts of fraudulent conversion.

Jermaine Sealy pleaded guilty to both charges before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.

The court heard that on February 28 at Georgetown, being solely entrusted by Jacqueline Osborne with a Samsung galaxy cell phone valued $118,000 he fraudulently converted same to his own use and benefit.

He also confessed that on the same day at Georgetown, he fraudulently converted another cell phone, which was loaned to him by Stephan John, to his own use. According to the prosecution, Sealy asked the victims for a telephone call after which he escaped with the phones.
