Alleged ‘Baby Killer’ charged, remanded to prison

[] – Forty – three – year old Marc Angoy appeared at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court on October 22, where he was charged and subsequently remanded to prison, for the murder of 13-month-old Arian Gill.

The accused was not represented by an Attorney and was not required to plead to the indictable charge, which alleged that on October 18, he shot and killed Gill of Eastville Housing Scheme, Annandale, East Coast Demerara.

He is expected to make his next court appearance on December 28. Angoy, of Buzz Bee Dam, Craig, East Bank Demerara turned himself into the police on = October 20 at the Grove Police Station.

According to a police report, a man armed with a firearm discharged rounds through a window of the bottom flat of the home, which fatally wounded the baby girl and injured her 12-year-old aunt, Ashley Wellington to her left foot.

Gill was shot to her back and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital, while Wellington was admitted.

Angoy shared a recently ended common-law relationship with the infant’s grandmother, who was his intended target.
