2,700 pounds of marijuana, cocaine, $1M cash found in Golden Grove/Diamond

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Officers from the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit clamped down on two houses in the Golden Grove/Diamond area, where they found 2,700 pounds of Jamaican marijuana at one home and 10 pounds of cocaine and $1 Million at another home in the same area.

One person has been arrested for the marijuana find, whole another is in custody for the cocaine bust yesterday, Sunday July 07.

Only yesterday the Police Narcotics Branch found over 36 pounds of cocaine stashed in ceramic ornaments on an Amerijet cargo flight that was preparing to leave the Cheddi Jagan airport for Ireland.

Thirty – year – old Belinda Williams and two men were taken into custody.

  1. There are many drug pushers and on the whole drugs from this area.
    This means it is a hub for drug smuggling.
    These people young and not so young are caught regularly, but they keep coming with no let up.
    I believe close cooperation with the US Government is needed. I would rather see all of these drug dealers face extradition to face US Justice.
