[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 21 – year – old woman of Richmond Housing Scheme, Essequibo Coast ended her life tragically by committing suicide.
According to reports, Veronica Harnandan drank a quantity of poisonous substance last Thursday (March 13) after she was allegedly humiliated by an ex-girlfriend of her brother.
iNews (www.inewsguyana.com) understands that after consuming the poison, she informed her mother about it. The 21 – year – old was rushed to the Suddie Hospital and admitted. Despite efforts by doctors to save her life, she died on Saturday (March 15).
The incident has plunged the quiet village of Richmond into sadness and mourning.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that another teenager, 19 – year – old Latchmie Rajkumar of Hybonnia Village who tried to end her life by also committing suicide is currently recovering at the same hospital.
