$100,000 bail for Indonesian National charged for overstaying in Guyana

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Indonesian National Martomi Ajen who resides at Prashad Nagar, Georgetown was placed on $100,000 bail by Magistrate Faith McGusty for overstaying in Guyana.

He pleaded not guilty to the offence on Tuesday, March 25. It is alleged that between March 16, 2012 and March 22, 2014 he failed to comply with conditions subject to which any permit has been granted, that is to say he was allowed to stay in Guyana from 2012-01-15 to 2012-03-15 and he overstayed the period.

Police Prosecutor, Seon Blackman objected to bail on the basis that the accused may pose a flight risk. However, bail was granted and he was ordered to lodge his passport and report to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Eve Leary. He will re – appear in Court on April 28.
