[www.inewsguyana.com] – Seventeen – year – old Anferny Archer has been granted $100,000 bail on five counts of robbery under arms, a few days after he was remanded to prison on those very charges.
Archer of Lot 185 Punt Trench Dam, Independence Boulevard, Georgetown, made his first appearance at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on August 25, before Magistrate Ann McLennan.
The unrepresented man pleaded not guilty to all the charges and was remanded to prison, however during his second court appearance on Thursday, September 03, 2015, the matter was transferred before Magistrate Alex Moore, where he was placed $20,000 bail on each charge.
The first allegation stated that on August 25 at West Ruimveldt, Georgetown, being armed with a gun, he robbed Dimitrios Howard of documents and cash $2,000.
Particulars of the other charge stated that on the same day at West Ruimveldt, being armed with the said weapon, he robbed Jemella Josiah of one cellular phone and a handbag, together valued $22,500.
It is also alleged that on the same day and place, in the company of another, he robbed Kimberly Moore of one purse, one GBTI bank card, Scotia Bank Card, one Identification Card, one wedding ring and a driver license at gun point.
The fourth charge read that on August 25 at West Ruimveldt, he robbed Kimberly Melville of three BLU cellular phones belonging to Terwayne Kerr.
Lastly, it is alleged that on the same day and place, he also robbed Melville of cash $6,000 at gun point. The accused is scheduled to reappear in court on September 09.
