10-Y-O boy crushed by house beam in Sparendaam

[www.inewsguyana.com] – A ten-year-old boy is now dead after one of the main beams of a house that is currently under construction fell on him, crushing him to death at Sparendaam Housing Scheme, East Coast Demerara (ECD).

iNews understands that 10-year-old Tyrese Isaacs of 135 Sparendaam Housing Scheme was in his house when he left to go into the yard. It was explained that the child’s mother was inside the home when she heard her son scream.

She investigated only to find her son pinned under a beam. The woman immediately raised an alarm and persons rushed to her aid and together they removed the huge beam from the child’s body.

He was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. It is reported that the child suffered extensive damage to the left side of his face and also suffered a gaping wound close to his left ear.

The police force has since launched an investigation into the matter and the child’s mother was asked to give a statement.
