Shopkeeper remanded on cocaine charges

[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 40 – year – old Shopkeeper, accused of the possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking, pleaded not guilty to the offense before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.

It is alleged that Warren Stuffle of Lot 3 Aubrey Barker Road, between September 4 and November 4, at Sussex Street, Charlestown, conspired with Shanda Nichols to traffic 416 grammes of cocaine. It is also alleged that on November 4, at Aubrey Barker Road, South Ruimveldt, he had six grammes of cocaine in his possession for trafficking.

According to the Prosecution, Nichols, who is known to Stuffle, was arrested at the Ogle International Airport recently for the illegal possession of cocaine. She was charged and pleaded guilty to the offense, to which she was sentenced to 3 years in prison.

The court heard that it was during her arrest and questioning that she implicated Stuffle in being a part of the drug scheme. Ranks visited Stuffle house, where he was found in possession of the illegal substance.

He was remanded to prison and will make his next court appearance on November 23.
