[www.inewsguyana.com] – Primary schools in the New Amsterdam/Canje/East Bank Areas are the latest beneficiaries of the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sport Club (RHTY&SC) following the launching of a schools tape ball championship.
The initiative of the RHTY&SC’s Cricket Development Committee was officially launched last week.
Trophy stall has come to the fore to assist in the initiative playing a role as part sponsor and host to the tournament’s launch.
Managing Director of the business entity, Ramesh Sunich, stated that the main objectives of the tournament are to promote cricket as a safe avenue for children and identify new talents.
The winning team will receive a trophy and medals for its entire 14-man squad, while the runners-up and the man-of-the-final will also receive trophies.
Members of the two finalists will each receive a collection of books as part of the RHTY&SC “yes to reading” programme.
