NCN fires Admin Officer over alleged dishonesty; Poor performance

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Administrative Officer of the National Communications Network (NCN) Inc. Angulie Paruag was dismissed from the Company for poor performance and alleged dishonest conduct.

iNews has been informed that Paruag, who worked with the company as an Audit Clerk before being installed as the Administrative Officer has been serving in that capacity for one year.

It was also related to iNews that during her employ as the Administrative Officer, she channeled resources of the Company, both human and other wise to her personal gain.

This news entity was told that the woman utilised handymen to perform duties at her home, leaving the work of the Company undone.

The Administrative Officer was reportedly dismissed by the Company too for several breaches of regulations.

One case in point was when the handyman, who falls under her command was instructed to weed the location of NCN at La Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara but was taken to her Diamond, East Bank Demerara home where he weeded her yard instead.

While there, the handyman reportedly stumbled on several maintenance tools and other chemicals in the woman’s backyard which were purchased by NCN for uses at the Company.

A report was subsequently made and the company launched an investigation which ran for two weeks. She was visited, questioned and sent on leave during the time the investigation was launched.

When contacted today, Chief Executive Officer Molly Hassan told iNews that the woman was sacked primarily because she was not performing as expected in her capacity as Administrative Officer.ncn web

 The CEO said the woman was on extended probation and she failed miserably to prove to management that she could function in the position.

 Hassan also said that the woman’s dismal was influenced by her dishonest practices.
