MOE to withhold CSEC results for failure to return textbooks

Students of the Richard Ishmael Secondary School engaging Minister Manickchand in a discussion[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Ministry of Education is placing all students who wrote the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations and their parents and guardians on notice that all textbooks issued by the Ministry through their school must be returned.

Students who fail to return the textbooks, which were loaned to them by their school, will not be able to access their CXC results.

This request is in keeping the Ministry’s Textbook Policy, which states, “Learners must return books before Progress Reports, Examination Results, Recommendations, or References are uplifted.”

The Ministry says it is forced to adopt this unfortunate position in an effort to provide adequate text books and similar opportunities to the next batch of students.
