[www.inewsguyana.com] – Embattled People’s Progressive Party (PPP) Parliamentarian, Jennifer Westford was a no show in the Opposition block of the National Assembly when it was her turn to debate on Wednesday evening.

Budget 2015 debates are currently on going and Westford was scheduled to be the penultimate speaker but moments before her turn to make her presentation she was nowhere to be seen,

iNews questioned Opposition Leader, Bharrat Jagdeo about the absence of Westford and he deferred the question to Chief Whip Gail Teixeira.

“I don’t know, ask Gail Teixeira – Teixeira would know,” said Jagdeo. However, attempts made to acquire a comment from the Chief Whip were futile and the PPP General Secretary Clement Rohee also seemed to be at a loss regarding his colleague’s whereabouts.

Vice President Khemraj Ramjattan was the last scheduled speaker for the evening and made fun of Westford’s absence when he rose to speak.

He said “I noticed that you have caused her to make an exit. Where is she?… I have a list here that says she was supposed to speak before me and she is gone.”

Westford is currently before the courts for allegedly attempting to illegally transfer eight government vehicles to various persons including herself.

She is also at the center of a $600M probe by the Guyana Police Force regarding monies transferred from the Office of the President to the Ministry of Public Service which she headed during her tenure.
