Guyanese investor donates $10M to charities

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Guyanese investor and mining executive Dean Hassan, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tesouro Resources, donated $10 millionto 18 charities from different sectors of service on Thursday, June 18.

Andrew Pollard, a friend and legal advisor to Hassan said that “…it’s been a long time since Dean was planning to give back in a significant way to the society which has been very good to him,” a press release noted.

According to the release, before presenting the cheques to the recipients, Hassan said that he is giving back to society and that he is fortunate and blessed to be in the position to do so.

The charities included: Deaf Association of Guyana, GSPCA, Help and Shelter, Guyana Legion, Guyana Red Cross Society, Salvation Army, St. John’s Bosco Orphanage, Dharm Shala, Association of Uncle Eddie’s Home, St. Ann’s Orphanage, Lodge, Youth Basketball Guyana, Ms. Sayeeda Manbodh, Queen’s College Old Students Association, Genevieve Beepat, David Rose School for Handicap Children, Guyana Palms, and the Guyana Society for the Blind.

The ceremony was held in the Ballet Room at Cara Lodge.

  1. This is the devil donating to charity , why dont he pay back the many miners in konawaruk that he shot up and destroyed their lives.

    these charities should be ashamed to be associated with this devil.
