Gardener found guilty of Marijuana possession; Ordered to do Community Service

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Ricardo Bailey, a Gardener of Guyhoc Park, Georgetown, was today convicted for possession of marijuana. He was found guilty following a trial.

The Court heard that on June 24 at Wellington Street, Georgetown, he had in his possession 28 grammes of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.

The 28-year-old man was fined $3,000 and ordered to perform 52 consecutive Saturdays of six hours community service, which will commence at the East La Penitence Police Station.

On the day in question, police were on patrol when the defendant was spotted fighting with another male.

Both men were arrested by the Police. The defendant reportedly removed a transparent plastic bag from his pants pocket and threw it to the ground.
