BK Air welcomes spanking new Caravan – to begin domestic operations soon

BK 2[www.inewsguyana.com]–The aviation arm of the BK Group of Companies – BK Air/JAGS Aviation – yesterday (Sunday, August 17), welcomed its brand new Cessna Grand Caravan 208B EX which will commence domestic operations soon and adding to the already existing fleet.

At a welcome reception at the Ogle International Airport, BK’s Public Relations Consultant, Alex Graham highlighted the fact that it was the first time a Guyanese company will own and operate a brand new aircraft.

He said it was an investment of over US$3 million and was manufactured this very year (2014). It has a seating capacity of 13, excluding the pilot, state of the art technology and fully air conditioned.

Director of BK International, Bryony Tiwari said for years the company was known for construction; adding that herself and family was more than excited about the arrival of the new aircraft and what it will do for aviation in Guyana and support to communication, tourism and mining.

“The aviation arm of BK Group also represents the vision of the next generation of the Tiwari family… we remain willing to invest in Guyanese and diverse sectors like aviation,” she added.

She pledged continued investment in ensuring quality aircraft and service even as she announced that the company was exploring other options while at the same time ensuring highest standards and cutting edge technology.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), Hugh Denbow told the gathering that it was a great pleasure for the GCAA to welcome BK Air and the arrival of the new caravan.BK 3

“Many persons have chicken out of aviation… but I assure you that as long as you invest there will be no turning back… be of an open mind and rest assure that the staff at the GCAA stand ready to offer assistance,” he said.

Labour Minister Dr. Nanda Gopaul along with other local service providers and private sectors members also sought to encourage the company.

Dr. Gopaul extended government’s full support for the investment.

BK Air purchased JAGS with all of its assets and is the newest addition to the local aviation sector.

BK International, which is touted as one of Guyana’s largest privately owned indigenous construction company is also responsible for the successful construction of several roads and bridges and national projects across Guyana ranging from sea defense works, civil construction, commercial construction and custom residential construction.
