34-Y-0 granted bail for threatening to kill step-brother

Court[www.inewsguyana.com] – Thirty – four – year old Leon Lewis of Lot 172 South Ruimveldt, Park Georgetown, accused of threatening language against his step-brother, appeared before City Magistrate Faith Mc Gusty on Thursday, November 12.

It is alleged that on November 06, 2015 at Gauling Place, South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, he unlawfully and maliciously made use of threatening language towards Orlando Joseph, causing a breach of the peace.

He pleaded not guilty to the offense. According to the Prosecution, the accused and Joseph reside at the same address and would usually have arguments.

On the day in question, the accused, during the course of an argument, allegedly pulled a knife and threatened to kill Joseph. In his defense, Lewis explained that on the day in question he did not threatened Joseph nor was he in possession of a knife.

Magistrate Mc Gusty granted him $10,000 bail and he was placed on a bond to keep the peace. Lewis will make his next court appearance on December 04.
