[www.inewsguyana.com] – West Indies Batsman Kieron Pollard returned to form on Wednesday (April 30) against the Sunrisers Hyderabad but failed to spur his Indian Premier League Side – the Mumbai Indians – to their first win of the tournament.

Pollard hammered his way to 78 from 48 deliveries, compliments of three fours and six sixes and got his side within striking distance of the 172 for 5 earlier set by the Sunrisers.

Pollard took a liking to Amit Mishra, slamming him for 27 runs off the 17th over after Sunrisers Captain Shikhar Dhawan opted to bowl the spinner.

However, Dayle Steyn and Buveshwar Kumar tied down the Trinidadian all rounder while Irfan Pathan finally took his wicket via an inside edge to the stumps.Dayle Steyn

Earlier, Ben Dunk scored 20 off 17 and Ambati Rayudu hit 35 off 27 to represent the only other double figures in the side. Kumar, Steyn and Pathan ended with two wickets each.

After winning the toss, the Mumbai Indians took the field first. David Warner scored 65 from 51 and Lokesh Rahul 16 (40). Corey Anderson and Zaheer Khan had two wickets each.

There will be no match tomorrow but the tournament returns to India on Friday with the Kolkata Knight Riders taking on the Chennai Super Kings in Ranchi.
