[www.inewsguyana.com] – The West Indies have fallen prey to another thrashing by the Indians, this time in their first One Day International of the three match series.

The side fell to a 6 wicket defeat earlier today with some 88 balls to spare after yet another batting failure.

Winning the toss, the West Indies, this time under the leadership of Dwayne Bravo opted to bat first, and mustered up a paltry 211 all out off 48.5 overs

There lead scores, 42 From Johnson Charles, 59 From Darren Bravo, 24 from Marlon Samuels, 29 from Lendl Simmons and 24 from skipper Bravo.

Darren’s 59 came off 77 deliveries as he smashed four fours (4X4) and two sixes (6X2) while Charles’ 42 was more hammered with seven fours (4X7) and one six (6X1).

in the Indian bowling attack, Suresh Riana and Ravindra Jadeja struck for three wickets each while Ravichandran Aswhin had 2 and Mohammad Shami, one.

The Indians in their batting department wasted little time in getting to that total, Rohit Sharma blasting 72 and Vhirat Kholi 86 before the game was eventually brought home by Yuvraj Singh (16) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni (13).

Jason Holder bagged 2 wickets for 48runs off some 8 overs while Ravi Ramphal completed the same spell for 39 runs and a wicket.  The second one day international is billed for Sunday.
