[www.inewsguyana.com] – The 25 metres warm-up pool at the National Aquatic Centre is scheduled to be opened late in February, according to the Minister of Sport, Dr Frank Anthony.
Anthony disclosed the information on the National Communication Network’s (NCN) Political Scope on Friday, January 16.
“Facilities of international standards are important. They are important for our athletes to be able to compete on the international arena and so we have added a new pool, a 25 meters training pool at the Lilliendaal facility and very shortly, in another month or so, we will be opening this pool”.
The pool will be used for training as well and is expected to boast a computerized system similar to that of the 50 metres pool at the same facility.
In addition, the warm-up pool was necessary in order for Guyana to have better training sessions as well as the possibility of hosting international meets.
