[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Alliance For Change (AFC) has reiterated that it has not chosen its Presidential or Prime Ministerial Candidate to contest the general and regional elections slated for later this year.

General Secretary of the AFC, David Patterson, during a telephone interview with iNews on Monday, January 19 debunked an article appearing in one of the local newspapers which stated that Moses Nagamootoo was unilaterally selected as Presidential Candidate.

Patterson told iNews that there are three nominees for the Presidential Candidate, including Nagamootoo, who in his opinion is the front runner, while Nigel Hughes is the front runner for the Prime Ministerial candidate.

Patterson made it clear that the members have not met as yet to vote for the candidates. He explained that the AFC will not pronounce on the issue until President Donald Ramotar announces a date for the elections.

The main opposition Party – A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) is also yet to announce its candidates, along with the governing People’s Progressive Party (PPP).
