[www.inewsguyana.com] – The University of Guyana Student Society (UGSS) is finalizing its plans to host another debate between the Presidential Candidates who will be contesting the upcoming May 11, 2015 general and regional elections.

According to UGSS President, Joshua Griffith, they are hoping to host the debate in mid-April. Griffith expressed optimism that President Donald Ramotar would participate in this debate, given the fact that the last debate in 2011 left a bad taste in the President’s mouth, since he was not allowed to respond appropriately to questions asked.

Griffith has since assured that this year’s debate will be one with a difference since the organizers have learned from the last one, which saw the President being drowned out by cheers from the supporters of the Opposition leader.

The UGSS is working along with a few lecturers to make this year’s debate a reality.

Ramotar recently said he is up to the challenge of debating his polices on a public platform; however he will not take part in the debate unless it is organized by his campaign team.
