Tournament applications must be made to GFF – Matthias

[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Guyana Football Federation is looking to take a more stringent approach to the running of tournaments as part of its 2014 mandate in order to have a structure in the sport of football.

President of the GFF Christopher Matthias during a recent outing said the federation must uphold the directives that were agreed upon.

According to the football boss, persons will have to apply to the football federation in order to host tournaments.

Matthias indicated that the federation’s mandate is very clear which is to develop, improve, promote, regulate and control association football in all its form throughout the country.

He reiterated the federation’s control at any level of the sport and its mandate in the way it should be run.

According to the football boss, the federation doesn’t envision any difficulty simply because they have the requisite steps to follow.

With regards to hosting of tournaments, anyone who wants to host a tournament must comply with those rules or else the GFF will not endorse it whether at the school level or at any other.

During the GFF’s last congress several of its programs were scrutinized as the federation seeks have a more well thought out program in the sport.
