Synthetic track to open on April 17

Part of the facility that was completed some time ago.

[] – The long awaited synthetic track will open on April 17, the disclosure was made at the closing ceremony of the Easter swimming programme.

The track which was under construction since late 2010 will bring a new dimension to track and field in Guyana.

At the closing ceremony, Sports Minister Dr. Frank Anthony was optimistic that the planned programmes for training and meet will develop the sport to the next level.

President Donald Ramotar is expected to give the featured address for the event expected to last for approximately three hours.
